Paragraph Note: Class-Nine, Date: 20/07/2020
My Role Model
My role model in life is Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who is the messenger of Islam. Most of his early life was spent in Mecca. At age 40, he began to have revelations from Allah that is the Qur’an and the foundation of Islam. By 630 he had unified most of Arabia under Islam. As of 2020, there are over 1.8 billion Muslims in the world who profess, “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was born around 570 AD in Mecca (now in Saudi Arabia). His father died before he was born and he was raised first by his grandfather and then his uncle. He belonged to a respectable family of the Quraysh tribe. The family was active in Meccan politics and trade. Many of the tribes living in the Arabian Peninsula at the time were nomadic, trading goods as they crisscrossed the desert. Most tribes were polytheistic, worshipping their own set of gods. The town of Mecca was an important trading and religious centre, home to many temples and worship sites where the devoted prayed to the idols of these gods. The most famous site was the Kaaba (meaning cube in Arabic). It was built by Ibrahim (as) and his son Ismail (as). Gradually the people of Mecca turned to polytheism and idolatry. Of all the gods worshipped, it is believed that Allah was considered the greatest and the only one without an idol. In time, Muhammad earned a reputation as honest and sincere, acquiring the nickname “al-Amin” meaning faithful or trustworthy. Muhammad (pbuh) worked for a wealthy merchant woman named Khadijah(ra), 15 years his senior. She proposed marriage. He accepted.  Prophet Muhammad would occasionally took journeys of devotion to sacred site near Mecca. On one of his pilgrimages in 610, he was meditating in a cave on Mount Jabal al-Noor. The Angel Jibreel appeared and relayed the word of Allah: “Recite in the name of your Lord who creates, creates man from a clot! Recite for your lord is most generous….” These words became the opening verses of surah Alaq of the Qur'an. Then he spread the message of Islam among the people of Mecca. But many of them failed to accept this call. The Ansar of Medina embraced Islam and prophet migrated to Medina to establish an Islamic State there. He ensured justice and peace for them and fought the tyrants to erase injustice and oppression from the world. He showed every single moral and righteous attributes of a human being. He is the best role model, the best example for mankind, Uswatul Hasanah. He left us but we feel him in our hearts and minds and we feel tranquillity because he embedded the love of Allah, the Almighty in every believer’s heart.
A Plumber
plumber is a  technically skilled person. He is a familiar figure in our society. He is capable of installing and maintaining systems used for drinking water, sewage and drainage in plumbing systems. The Latin for lead is plumbum. Roman roofs used lead in drain pipes. In medieval times anyone who worked with lead was referred to as a plumber. Thus a person with expertise in working with lead was first known as a Plumbarius which was later shortened to plumber. Common plumbing tasks and skills are: The read drawings, and specifications to determine layout of water supply, waste, and venting systems. They detect faults in plumbing appliances and systems, and correctly diagnosing their causes. They are also expert in installing, repairing and maintaining domestic, commercial, and industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. They can also locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors. They measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines. They join pipes and fittings together using soldering technique. They test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. They are aware of legal regulations and safety issues. Still there are many types of dangers to a plumber. Their work is sometimes very risky especially when they work inside any boiler, tunnel or manhole. In the rural areas they install shallow and deep tube wells for the supply of pure and arsenic-free drinking water and also for irrigation. They must be given due return in comparison to their valuable service. They may be doing manual work but they are not ignorant. So we should not neglect or undermine them. They are of great support and help for us. We should be cordial and thankful for the job they do. We should be grateful to them.
